Blackjack is growing in popularity at online casinos as it is easy to play and comprehend. Learning online blackjack strategies and tips will help you get the best chance to win some money. The basic blackjack strategies are quite simple and you can master them with some practice. As you become a better blackjack player, you can grasp more complicated strategies to win big at online blackjack.

Basics of Blackjack

Online blackjack tips and strategiesThe main objective of blackjack is to get a higher value of cards than the dealer without exceeding 21. You can win at blackjack in three ways:

  • First, the player wins when he gets a natural blackjack but the dealer doesn’t. This means you are dealt with Ace and 10-card from the beginning and the total number of these first two cards is 21.  When you get a natural blackjack, you win 1.5 the amount of your bet.
  • Second, the player wins by getting a total card value more than the dealer without exceeding 21. If the total card value is more than 21, the players go bust and lose the game while the dealer wins irrespective of his hand.
  • Third, the player wins when everyone busts except him.

The Rules of Blackjack

In this section, we have listed some of the basic rules of blackjack that you must know before trying your luck on blackjack at online casinos.

  • Blackjack is played with a deck of standard 52 cards. Multiple decks can be used.
  • The value of cards from Two to Ten is represented by their face value. Jack, Queen, and King have a value of 10. Ace is worth 1 or 11 and players can choose any value that creates a better hand for them.
  • To win, players must beat the dealer’s hand without exceeding 21.
  • Each player is dealt with two cards, both face-down. The dealer also receives two cards but one is face-up and the other is face-down.
  • When you choose ‘Hit,’ this means that you want to draw another card. The dealer must ‘hit’ when the value of his total cards exceeds 17.
  • When you choose to ‘Stand,’ this means that you want to stay with your cards and you don't want to add more.
  • When you choose to ‘Double’, this means that you want to double your bet. This option offers you one more card.
  • When you choose to ‘Split’, this means that you want to divide your two cards into two hands and play them separately. The player receives one card more for each hand and the bet is also doubled.
  • When you choose to ‘Surrender,’ this means that you don’t want to play the hand as the dealt ‘cards don’t look promising. This option forfeits half of the player’s original bet.
  • When you choose ‘Insurance,’ this means that you want to take 1:1 even money. Players go for this option when they find out that the face-up card of the dealer is Ace, which increases the chances of the dealer to get a blackjack.

Basic Strategies of Blackjack

There are several strategies of blackjack that will help you make quick decisions after receiving your first two cards. Grasping the blackjack tips and strategies will make your gameplay much faster and offer you greater chances to win some money:

  • Make sure to ‘split’ when you get two Aces as it drastically increases your possibilities to win a solid hand.
  • Avoid ‘splitting’ Tens because it makes the total value of 20, which is close to 21. In this case, the dealer must ‘hit’ a blackjack to win the game.
  • Don’t ‘split’ Fives. When you get two cards, each of the five, the total value of cards becomes 10. You can choose the ‘double down’ option to increase your odds to beat the dealer but ‘splitting’ is not favourable since it offers you two hands that may not come very close to 21.
  • You can choose to ‘split’ two Eights. This is because they add up to make 16, and your chances to get a low-value card are minimal. On the contrary, when you ‘split’, you can have another card with a favourable value.
  • You can choose to ‘split’ two Six if you find the dealer’s card is in the range from Three to Six.
  • You can choose to ‘split’ two Seven if you find the dealer’s card is in the range from Three to Seven.
  • You can choose to ‘split’ two Nines if you find the dealer’s card is in the range from Two to Nine.

Blackjack Tips for Soft Hands and Hard Hands

In blackjack, Ace is represented as 1 or 11, and players can choose the value that makes their hand value favourable. A soft hand consists of an Ace with a value of 11 and a hard hand consists of an Ace with a value of 1.

Tips for Soft Hands

  • If you have got a soft 17 hand, you can choose to ‘hit’ and draw another card as it will improve your winning chances. A soft 17 hand consists of an Ace (11) and a Six (6).
  • Even if you have a soft hand with a value lower than 17, you can choose to ‘hit’ and look forward to increasing the total value of your hand close to 21.
  • If you have got a soft 18 hand, you can choose to ‘hit’ and draw another card. A soft 18 hand consists of an Ace (11) and a Seven (7). You can prefer to choose ‘double down’ and double your bet if the dealer has any one of these cards: Eight, Nine, or Ten.

Tips for Hard Hands

  • You can choose to ‘stand’ when you have a hard 17 hand. A hard 17 has an Ace with a value of 1. This hand is quite close to 21 and you must not draw another card as it will bust you.
  • You must ‘stand’ when you have a hard hand between 12 and 16 and the dealer has a card of value anywhere from Two to Six. But, if the dealer’s card is Seven, you must ‘hit.’

Many players prefer playing blackjack since it is exciting, fun, and easy to play. The promising combination of your skills and chance can help you earn massive winnings in no time.
